Christian Wessels is a poet, essayist, and critic. He is the author of Who Follow the Gleam (University of Massachusetts Press, forthcoming 2026), selected by Bianca Stone for the Juniper Prize for Poetry.

This fall he will join the University of Rochester as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Poetry. He received his PhD in English from UR and his MFA from Boston University.

He splits his time between New York and the Black Forest with his wife, media scholar Tanja Beljanski, and their daughter.
